Supporting the Classroom - August Coding Challenge

How much time do we spend writing our students' names on popsicle sticks, for them to be discarded a month later as student rosters have changed?

I built a random name caller to stop doing that. It is the August challenge on aicodingforeducators.org, and the site is new enough that I am still finding what breaks on it.

Two things I would genuinely like from this room. Look at the build and tell me what you would have done differently. And if something on the site falls over, tell me that too. I am looking for two additional co-hosts to map out the school year. Each month has a different co-host sharing a problem in education they face and contributors design around the challenge presented. If you are interested in co-hosting reach out to me!

You can also submit your own version through the challenge form. Submissions are attributed and archived in a searchable repository. My goal is to give teachers a starting place that they can find help and regain time for their own wellbeing.

As a classroom teacher, the framing of these challenges are meant to help solve a problem and support educators around the world. I would be interested in seeing what this community comes up with and the unique solutions presented.
