Welcome to inContact

Thanks for taking the time to check out my new site. I wanted to build something that I found a pleasure to use. It needed to be elegant, easy on the eye, and allow ideas to surface. I'm not trying to complete with LinkedIn or Substack. I genuinely hope to offer an alternative. Somewhere half way between the two, with the more social aspect of LinkedIn combined with Substack's focus on long form writing.

There are a few things inContact will not do:

  • It won't throttle outbound links - if you need to include links to other sites, please do: and embedded videos will show in the post like LinkedIn.

  • It won't award writing gamed for the algorithm. So no short sentences. No one line declarations. No 'here's the brutal truth no one is talking about.' Feel free to include them, but the inContact algorithm is more likely to demote them, than push them to more users.

  • You can like a post and you can comment on a post, but I want this site to be more about engaging meaningfully with others - so no engagement theatre.

  • It won't push suggested posts at you with a view to having you react negatively. It is not gamed for that sort of engagement. It's a space to think, deliberate, perhaps even pause: not perform.

  • You can write up to 2000 words in a post, and can add formatting. So feel free to let your ideas run longer, without fear of running out of space.

  • Above all, it will reward authenticity. We deserve a place where we can be ourselves, to debate, challenge, and agree.

I hope you like it, and hope you come join me. And for the first inContant pioneers, you'll even get a founding member badge, to wear alongside your profile with pride.
